UNDER THE HOOD – EPISODE 6

Hello everyone!

Today, we’re introducing our newest patch to RENNSPORT – the Early Access 1.13.0.

While we’re focusing heavily on the many things that still need to be done to make the game ready for the full release on PC and Console later this year, for this patch we remain set on resolving community bugs that have been reported to us over the past few months. From unexpected hiccups to quirky calculations, we’ve worked through a number of troublemakers.

However, all of this did not stop us from adding two new big changes with this patch… I’m of course talking about the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT3 (2020) sounds and our newest feature: Open Setups

Let’s start with the Mercedes-AMG sound:
Our audio team has done a truly amazing job in reproducing the real-life audio recordings in the virtual world. Really, just listen to the real life vs RENNSPORT comparison yourself while the update is installing:

We consider this new audio to be the baseline that all of our cars will have at launch – We’re super excited to hear your thoughts!
Of course, you will notice that not only the Mercedes-AMG sound has changed… our whole audio system has been completely redesigned to allow for greatly enhanced immersion on the tracks. The new adaptive interior details like stone hits and chassis sounds, as well as more life-like environmental sounds, make RENNSPORT sound more grounded and realistic than before.

Next, the addition of Open Setups. The reason for why we did this so suddenly is quite simple: A spontaneous decision after we got many different community requests for it.
The feature was mostly ready and waiting for the full launch of the game (Which it was initially intended to be released for), but after getting more and more messages from people asking for open setups, we decided to move the development focus onto this feature for a bit, to finish up any loose ends.
And so here we are – Open Setups will be available in Singleplayer, Time Trials and some multiplayer contests from now on.
To make it easier for you to send and for us to collect feedback, we have decided to lock and hide some setup related values for now – there are many things that can take an “interesting” turn once changes to the setup have been made, so we want to ensure stability by first releasing it like this.

Let us know what you think!

And with that said – I’ll see you all on the tracks!
